*Some notes on calculation users to REDCap projects:

REDCap admins try non to add individual users to projects. REDCap admins refrain from calculation users to private projects considering the ultimate project owner is the written report staff.  Study staff understands who should have access and how much access each person should have. As you will come across below, there are several choices apropos what access a user is granted, and those choices are best made by written report staff.  Additionally, not calculation users to REDCap studies later on projection creation is a security measure. It prevents someone unaffiliated with a study from gaining access by representing themselves incorrectly to help-redcap@bmi.cchmc.org.

To add together a user to your projection

• Log in to REDCap and open the projection that you would like to add a user to

• From the applications side bar carte select, User Rights
  
• You can then search for a REDCap User to add to your project by typing their name
• If a user does not appear during a name search, this means that the user has not logged into REDCap yet.
• In these cases, just employ the REDCap ID.  This REDCap ID will be supplied to you by aid-redcap in the user creation confirmation east-mail.

User Rights functions  (displayed in picture higher up):

• Data Entry Rights - Grants user "No Access", "Read Only", "View&Edit", "Edit Survey Responses" rights to the project'southward information drove instruments.

• Data Import Tool - Grants user access to download and modify import templates for uploading information straight into the project bypassing data entry forms.
• Data Comparing Tool - Grants user access to see two selected records side past side for comparing.
• Logging - Grants user access to view log of all occurrences of data exports, pattern changes, record creation, updating & deletion, user creation, tape locking, and page views. This is the inspect trail for the project.
• File Repository - Grants user access to upload, view, and retrieve projection files and documents (ex: protocols, instructions, announcements). In addition, it stores all information and syntax files when data is exported using the Information Export Tool.
• User Rights - Grants user access to alter the rights and privileges of all users on a item project, including themselves. We suggest that simply the P.I. and the Manager accept user rights
• Data Access Groups - Grants user access to create and add together users to data access groups. User should not assign their cocky to a information access grouping or they will lose their admission to update other users to data admission groups. Therefore, user with this privilege should be able to see all project information regardless of group.
• Graphical Data View & Stats - Grants user access to view uncomplicated statistics on each field in the project in existent time. If user does non have access to a data collection instrument, that instrument volition not be listed on the page.
• Data Quality - Grants user access to discover data discrepancies or errors in project data by allowing user to create & edit rules; and execute data quality rules. If user does not have access to a data drove instrument that the query is referencing, access will be denied for query results.
• Reports & Report Architect - Grants user access to build simple queries within the project. If user does not have admission to a information drove instrument that the report is pulling data from, admission will be denied for study.
• Projection Design and Setup - Grants user access to add, update or delete any forms within the project. Besides allows user to enable and disable projection features and modules.
• Lock/Unlock Records - Grants user access to lock/unlock a tape from editing. Users without this right will not exist able to edit a locked tape. User will need "Read Only" or "View&Edit" to lock/unlock a data drove musical instrument.
• Record Locking Customization - Grants user admission to customize record locking text.
• Create Records - Grants user access to add record and information to database.
• Rename Records - Grants user access to change key id of record.
• Delete Records - Grants user admission to remove an entire tape. Nosotros suggest that simply the P.I. and the Managing director accept rights to delete records
• Expiration Engagement - Automatically terminates project access for the user on date entered.

5. Once all rights have been selected, click "Add together User".  The new user will then be added.
